It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of BARDOC Chief Executive, and Trustee of Homeless Friendly, Vicky Riding on 6th April 2022

Vicky has paid a huge contribution to the health of people in the region, especially the homeless.

Vicky, who was 51, passed away peacefully following a short illness. She had been with BARDOC since 1996, preserving its longevity and turning it into an innovative provider of 24/7 care for patients in the Greater Manchester region.

Vicky was also pivotal in creating Homeless-Friendly, becoming a Trustee of the charity, ensuring Bury was the first borough to pledge to be a part of it, and supporting the world’s first COVID-19 vaccination clinic for rough sleepers. She was also a fervent and active supporter of other local health charities.

A spokesperson for Homeless-Friendly, said:

Vicky’s proud legacy is one of professionalism in all that she did, a leadership approach that always brought others with her, and a drive to make sure everyone received the same quality healthcare. At the heart of all these qualities was an obvious compassion for others. She will be greatly missed.

Dr. Bracegirdle, Chair of BARDOC said:

It is with great sadness that I have been informed of BARDOC’s CEO, Vicky Riding’s death.

I have known Vicky since 1996 when she first joined BARDOC, through good times and challenges, fulfilling a variety of roles culminating in being appointed as CEO.

Throughout that time she has been an innovative, forthright, and inspiring leader – committing a huge amount both personally and professionally to BARDOC, our patients, and staff, with particular reference to the provision of medical support to those who are homeless.

My overriding memory will be how she inspired and supported others to be their best, develop and grow.

Dr. Zahid Chauhan, OBE, BARDOC Deputy Chief Executive and Founder of Homeless Friendly said:

Vicky will never be forgotten, she will always remain with us in our thoughts and prayers. We will continue the journey of compassionate selfless support for others which she started.

Thank you Vicky for everything you have done, our thoughts are with her family, friends, and colleagues in this difficult time.

Vicky’s children Rebecca and Jack said:

We are proud of what mum  has achieved with her work in and out of BARDOC and extremely proud of her legacy she is leaving behind
