Such a remarkable event, the weather threw everything at us but it didnt stop over 100 people from sleeping out in solidarity with people who are homeless.  The event was opened by The Deputy Lord Lieutenant Lisa Yam, followed by a Thank you from Dr Chauhan our founder, Megan Harrison the host told a beautiful story ‘4 into 3’ which related to her brother an ex veteran. Harry Marshall a winner of the World Sleep Out competition entertained us with his guitar, this was followed by Manchester’s very own Danny a poet from Invisible Cities, The Gym Group’s Michelle and Dom then warmed us up with a dancing exercise routine  Bed time Story ‘The Homeless Angel’ written by Barbara Llewelyn was read by Sister Anita Smith (Nurse Prescriber at Lime Square) the event ended with Joe Topping an Attendee who is also a musician performing at the event and raising a considerable amount of money by writing a song dedicated to people who are homeless. At the last count the event has raised over £25,000 with 50% of the money going to homeless Friendly which will enable us to start our Hot Line Project.  Thank you to all the attendees, volunteers, artists and supporters without your commitment the event could not have happened. We mustn’t forget Lime Square Shopping Centre as they allowed us to use their car park.
